AQUADIKE refers to a modular element for flood prevention barriers being quickly and easily installed. As it is known, the present means available to protect lands against floods are not so many and they are difficult and long to install and , morover ,they require great efforts., they are mainly constituted by earth or stone cofferdams, by sandbags, or by inflatable means have many drawbacks, they are too weak, they do not have the required solidity to face up o the violence of waters and they are too long and require too much effort for the technicians and/or the volunteers to be prepared and installed.
AQUADIKE is a modular element for flood prevention barriers comprising a container (made of polyethylene so it is strong, light , re-usable and 100% reciclable) that can be filled up with water or other.The join combination of the elements allows building easily and without great efforts single, multiple closed and/or stacked seal barriers that can adapt to the land configuration and support the quantity of waters to be controlled once they are filled up and made heavy.
The barriers under way can be reinforced and/or erected with correspondent jointly linked barriers placed side by side and/or overlapped in order to support pressure increases of the flowing waters according to the needs.
The installation of AQUADIKE is quick and it does not require many people or additional material, in addition to the quick installation without infrastructures, the reduced unit weight and their modular structures allow an easy movement also during removals, transfers to other locations, rebuilding of other barriers and piling up in warehouses.
